Guest membership is required to fly at El Tiro with proof of insurance. It's $50/year and $50 for a 2000' tow. Those interested must fill out an on-line application at TucsonSoaring.org (look down the menu bar on the left side and click on Membership Application if you are not already in the database) then e-mail Kevin Purcell (desertkev@cox.net). You should also contact him by voice at 520-440-0771 or 520-745-3927 to confirm the setup for flight **BEFORE** you arrive at the field.

I am trying to get free to fly Saturday and Sunday. Are there any membership requirements to fly there for the OLC and ASA contest?

You'll recall from Cliff's front page article that the ASA will be sponsoring a BBQ/Cookout on the Saturday evening of each contest weekend and supplying the proteins for participating pilots. The cookout for this weekends "Contest" will be held on the deck at Tucson Soaring Club at El Tiro Gliderport after the days flying activities. Please bring some type of a side or dessert to go along with the protein that ASA will be providing.

PLEASE RSVP HERE to let us know if you will be attending so that we can assure enough food has been purchased for the meal. Pilots who RSVP will have first dibs on the grub !!
